信州でも最も古くから開発されたリゾート地。雪質に恵まれたコースでのスキーをはじめ、白樺の木立の中でのテニス、ドライブなど、遊びにはこと欠きません。白樺の若葉がまぶしい高原の春。桜が満開になるのはゴールデンウィークの頃。6月中旬には高山植物の世界が広がります。ニッコウキスゲに囲まれたビーナスラインドライブは爽快そのもの。八ヶ岳、アルプスの眺望も見事です。10月初旬〜中旬にかけては紅葉が美しく、特に白駒池付近は一見の価値あり。スキーは晴天率80%のビーナスラインスキーエリアがおすすめ。蓼科湖や白樺湖ではスケートも楽しめます。

A 3 hours drive from Tokyo or Nagoya by the Chuo Express Way takes you to this quiet resort area. Tateshina is one of the oldest resorts in Shinshu. Lake-Shirakaba reflects towering Mt.Tateshina and offers year-round amusements such as tennis, skiing, boating, cycling and horse-back riding in an environment endowed with a lush grove of white birches. From Kiriganime-highland you can enjoy driving. Venus-Line and taking a historic stroll. There are many super-excellent ski grounds famous for their soft and powdery snow, such as Pilatus, Shirakaba 2 in 1, Echo Valley and Blanche Takayama. It's one of the easiest ski resorts to reach from Tokyo or Nagoya.
